Festival of Flowers

A wonderful event celebrating the beauty of Greenwood area! From across the upstate, and across the US, visitors travel for miles to experience the South Carolina Festival of Flowers, one of the Southeast Tourism’s “Top 20” events. Every year in June, the Greenwood area hosts several weeks of festivities including private garden tours, a juried arts and crafts show, tennis and golf tournaments, an antique car show, flower and horticultural shows, concerts featuring bluegrass and jazz, dances and more.

During the month the Geo. W. Park Seed Companies Trial Gardens will be in full swing, and Park Seeds Flower Day will delight visitors with over 15,000 varieties of flowers public display, as well as rare plant auctions and guest speakers.

Ninety Six National Historic Site Festivals

Ware Shoals Catfish “Feastival”

The annual Catfish “Feastival” in Ware Shoals is a celebration of flavor. This fun filled day in May includes an arts and crafts fair, a rodeo, a pet show, a beauty pageant, a fun run, street dance and more! The free entertainment begins on Friday and last all day Saturday. Of course, the food it the real focus of the festival and there is plenty - with dishes including Fried Catfish Plates, Catfish Stew, Barbecued Chicken, and much more. (More)

South Carolina Festival of Discovery

As headline event of the year for the Uptown Greenwood Development Corporation - the South Carolina Festival of Discovery is a weekend of food, fun, music, amusement rides and much more as you experience and learn about the history, traditions, folklore, arts and crafts, music and dance, and vernacular culture of Greenwood, the South Carolina Upstate area, and the entire state.  2008 will be the 8th year of this growing event!
