    Historic Emerald Farms is a fully functioning dairy farm, offering a hands-on, educational, and fun, experience on the edge of Greenwood. The 75 acre farm features beautiful rolling pastures, running trains, picnic areas, a soap factory, natural food store, and many more amenities for visitors. Be greeted by a wide variety of animals, including goats, sheep, cows, horses, chickens, and honey bees. Guided Tours are offered by appointment.

Ninety Six National Historic Site

Located off of Hwy 248, 2 miles south of the town.
Ninety Six, SC

Part of the National Parks service, Ninety Six National Historic Site comprises 2 Revolutionary War battle sites. Visitors will enjoy the original 1781 Star Fort, historic roads like the Cherokee Path & Charleston Road, the original town sites of Ninety Six & Cambridge, the reconstructed Stockade Fort & siege trenches, an Historic cabin reconstruction called the Black Swan Tavern, and much more. Special events are hosted by the Parks Service throughout the year.

Visitor Center open daily 8 am to 5 pm.
Grounds open daylight till dusk.

Cokesbury College

     Entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 1970, Cokesbury College is maintained by the Cokesbury Historic Commission. The college was built in 1854, and was  one of the first Masonic Female Collegiate Institutes in the southeast. The building and grounds offer an exciting diversion into the past.

The Museum

    The Museum has over 16,000 square feet of exhibits documenting cultural history from prehistoric to the contemporary. The wide variety of collections range from natural science, technology, to the arts. In addition to regional history, The Museum has an extensive international collection offering visitors a glimpse into life around the world. The James West Durst Gallery, named after The Museum's founder, offers premier exhibit space for art and history traveling programs showcasing nationally acclaimed artists as well as regional artists and historical interpretation. This private, non-profit organization has been dedicated to serving the public since 1967.

Uptown Greenwood

Building on the foundation of Main Streets rich history, Uptown Greenwood has been infused with exciting changes. The area has undergone many changes over the past 20 years and today flourishes with new development. Today, Uptown Greenwood features several locally owned restaurants, a wide variety of shopping choices, and an exciting lineup of annual events. 

The Railroad Historical Center

From the months of April to October, Museum staff and volunteers open the rail cars and gardens at The Railroad Historical Center on Saturdays from 10 AM - 4 PM  (weather dependent). The center features a 1906 steam locomotive that takes the lead as part of a "train" of seven cars ranging from the 1906 locomotive to a Pullman Standard car built in 1942.
